Former Liberal Occasion staffer Brittany Higgins has introduced she is engaged, a month later the case against a man accused of raping her was dropped.
Higgins introduced her engagement to David Sharaz, who supported her through the rape trial of Bruce Lehrmann, on Instagram on Sunday, New Yr’s Day.
“So fortunate to be spending a lifetime with you @davidsharaz,” she stated.

Sharaz indicated that the proposal atop the well-known Byron Bay lighthouse on New Yr’s Eve was intentionally timed.
“I did not wish to enter one other 12 months with out you realizing that I wish to spend all my years with you,” he stated.
“I am the luckiest man on the planet.”
Sharaz is a former press gallery journalist, working for the SBS and Sky Information.
He has appeared publicly alongside his now-fiance Higgins repeatedly for the reason that allegation that Lehrmann raped her in Parliament Home in Canberra was made public.
The cost in opposition to Lehrmann was dropped in early December due to considerations in regards to the influence a second trial would have on Higgins’ psychological well being.
The preliminary trial was aborted as a result of juror misconduct.
