Chinese culture on show for PM Lunar New Year visit

Chinese language coloration and tradition have been placed on present in Sydney’s internal metropolis because the Prime Minister joined the group in celebrating the Lunar New Yr.

Anthony Albanese toured Burwood’s Emerald Sq. on Sunday alongside Immigration Minister Andrew Giles and native Labor member Sally Sitou.

He was greeted with a conventional lion dance and handed out pink pockets, bringing again fond reminiscences for Ms Sitou, who’s of Chinese language heritage.

“A few of these youngsters have not had the chance to see a lion dance.”

Ms Sitou stated the PM obtained a rock star welcome as he toured the streets, popping into retailers and speaking selfies with locals.

Mr Albanese can be hoping the Yr of the Rabbit’s luck rubs off on his beloved NRL crew.

The die-hard South Sydney Rabbitohs fan stated he took the 12 months as omen.

“I used to be born within the Yr of the Rabbit as properly, so I am taking it as an indication that we’ll have an excellent 12 months,” he informed Hobart’s 7HOFM radio station.
