Authorities are gravely involved concerning the welfare of 80-year-old Swiss yachtsman Peter Baggenstos who was final seen in Hobart almost two months in the past.
The Swiss nationwide set sail for New Zealand on his 13-meter yacht “Girl Lay” on December 1.
The yacht’s transponder stopped transmitting on December 5 about 140km off Tasmania’s east coast, which on the time was understood to have poor climate.
The Australian Maritime Security Authority performed large-scale search operations within the Tasman Sea however neither Mr Baggenstos nor the yacht had been discovered.
