Cleo Smith’s abductor Terence Darrell Kelly returns to court in Perth

The person who has admitted to abducting four-year-old Cleo Smith from her household West Australian campsite has pleaded guilty to obstructing the police.

Terence Darrell Kelly has beforehand admitted to at least one depend of forcibly taking a toddler below 16.

The 37-year-old appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Monday, the place he was convicted and fined $1000 for obstructing public officers.

Cleo was discovered alive in November 2021, 18 days after she went lacking from a distant campsite about 1000km north of Perth.

Her disappearance sparked a serious police investigation which finally led detectives to a property 75km south in Carnarvon, simply minutes from Cleo’s household house.

Police compelled entry and located the little woman alone in a room.

The dramatic rescue was captured by an officer’s body-worn digicam and subsequently made information headlines all over the world.
