An aged Tamil girl who was saved in a situation of slavery by a Melbourne household for seven years lied about being taken on holidays, her residing circumstances and her means to socialize with members of her personal group, a courtroom has been instructed.
In April 2021, Melbourne husband and spouse Kumuthini and Kandasamy Kannan have been discovered responsible by a jury of two slavery offenses for maintaining the lady, now in her late 60s, locked of their Glen Waverley dwelling in a situation of home servitude between 2007 and 2015.
