Watchdog finds no corrupt conduct in Barilaro trade job

A NSW watchdog has discovered no proof of corrupt conduct behind the appointment of John Barilaro to a plum abroad commerce position.

The appointment of the previous deputy premier to the $500,000-a-year position as NSW’s New York commerce ambassador in June 2022 sparked political outrage, a number of inquiries and the resignation of a cupboard minister.
