Suspected Islamist militants have killed no less than 36 individuals in an in a single day assault on a village within the japanese Democratic Republic of Congo.
The assailants are believed to be rebels from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), a Ugandan armed group based mostly in japanese Congo that has pledged allegiance to Islamic State and wages frequent village raids, typically with machetes and hatchets.
