Western Sydney College has appointed former parliamentary cyber safety director Nadia Taggart to the newly-created function of chief data safety officer (CISO).
Taggart stepped into the function in January; it was created as a response to the rise of cyber dangers confronted by the schooling sector.
She – together with the college’s chief data and digital officer Scott Snyder – experiences to senior vice-president Peter Pickering. Snyder took on the CIDO function final September.
Taggart wrote on LinkedIn that the college had “wonderful initiatives and plans for the subsequent few years.”
She was previously the director of cyber safety operations on the Division of Parliamentary Providers (DPS) inside parliament. That function has since been taken over by the division’s director of safety structure, Leo Wu.
