Dwell

Ten Australian Protection Pressure personnel have survived a military helicopter crash into the water off the NSW south coast throughout a routine counter-terrorism coaching train.

The troopers had been plucked from the water in a dramatic rescue after the Military MRH-90 Taipan multirole helicopter ditched into the water close to Jervis Bay late on Wednesday.

Two of the crew suffered minor accidents within the crash, which occurred simply after 9pm.

“All 10 Australian Protection Pressure personnel on board the plane have been recovered and accounted for and are being assessed by medical personnel at HMAS Creswell, south of Nowra, NSW,” a Protection assertion stated.

Military chief Lieutenant Common Simon Stuart thanked emergency responders for his or her fast motion.

“Tonight fast responses from ADF personnel and emergency providers and effectively drilled groups prevented a possible tragedy,” Lieutenant Common Stuart stated.

“We are going to conduct a radical investigation into this incident to find out the trigger and make sure the platform stays protected to function.”

Protection has quickly paused the coaching exercise and can floor the MRH-90 Taipan fleet whereas the reason for the incident is investigated.

The incident web site is being contained by the Australian Federal Police and port providers personnel.
