Man missing in Victoria’s southeast feared victim of foul play after dogs found ‘wandering’: Police searching for answers

A person who went lacking in Victoria’s southeast is afraid to have met with foul play after his canines had been discovered wandering the streets.

Police are investigating the suspicious circumstances of the disappearance of Morwell resident John Swiety, who was final seen in Nurran on March 17.

It’s believed Swiety was heading to Goongerah after leaving his residence in a white Toyota Hiace van about 2am.

Issues had been raised when his two small terriers had been discovered by passers-by wandering close to a freeway north of Orbost on March 18.

The canines had been microchipped and Swiety’s sister was contacted in relation to them, which prompted her to report him lacking on March 22.

Police have issues for his welfare as a result of they are saying his disappearance is out of character and is being handled as suspicious.

He’s described as about 170cm tall, with brief brown hair and of Caucasian look.

Police are eager to talk with anybody who noticed the Toyota Hiace van touring the morning of March 17 between Morwell and Goongerah.

Anybody who sees Sweety is requested to name triple-Zero instantly.
