Leifer trial jury still out and heading for ninth day

Jurors within the trial of former ultra-Orthodox Jewish principal Malka Leifer will return to court docket to proceed deliberations for a ninth day after being despatched house.

Leifer, 56, is accused of sexually abusing Melbourne sisters Nicole Meyer, Dassi Erlich and Elly Sapper when she was head of faith and principal of the Adass Israel College within the metropolis’s jap suburbs between 2003 and 2007.

The mom of eight pleaded not responsible to 27 expenses and has confronted trial within the Victorian County Courtroom.

Choose Mark Gamble despatched jurors house at 1pm on Friday.

They’ve been deliberating for eight days.

“Can I want you a protected, blissful and wholesome weekend the place you may simply calm down and put this case out of your minds, so you may return on Monday morning and totally give attention to what stays of your deliberations,” Choose Gamble mentioned.

Jurors revealed on Tuesday they’ve reached unanimous verdicts on some expenses, and believed with extra time they may attain settlement on the remaining.
