Sydney mother accused of twice trying to drown baby

A mom has been charged with the tried homicide of her 10-month-old son after allegedly attempting to drown and suffocate the boy in two separate incidents.

The lady, 30, is accused of trying to drown the toddler at a house in Westleigh in north-west Sydney on March 19, police stated on Monday.

Two days later, she once more allegedly tried to limit the boy’s respiratory at one other northern Sydney residence.

The boy was discovered unresponsive about 12.30pm on March 21 and was taken to The Youngsters’s Hospital at Westmead in a vital situation.

The lady was arrested on the hospital after being spoken to by detectives from the Baby Abuse Squad.

She was charged with two counts of tried homicide and refused bail.

The boy died in hospital on March 23, the identical day his mom appeared in court docket.
