Man charged over social media hate campaign

A Sydney man has been arrested after allegedly focusing on a teenage woman in a social media hate marketing campaign greater than a decade in the past.

Detectives started investigating after they had been informed of social media posts directed on the then-17-year-old in 2012.

Officers searched a Chester Hill dwelling on Saturday night time and seized documentation, electronics and garments.

Police stated the 43-year-old man was arrested at Bass Hill Police Station about 12.40am on Sunday and charged with seven offences.
