The properties of previous and current NSW Liberal Get together members have reportedly been raided as a part of an anti-corruption investigation.
Laptops and telephones have been seized in the course of the raids carried out in the course of the week by the NSW Unbiased Fee In opposition to Corruption (ICAC), the Sunday Telegraph stories.
The raids are linked to allegations Liberal MP Ray Williams raised beneath parliamentary privilege in June 2022 which then-premier Dominic Perrottet referred to the watchdog.
Mr Williams claimed a number of senior members of his get together have been paid to put in new councilors on the Hills Shire Council who could be pleasant to a Sydney developer.
The allegations sparked a parliamentary inquiry within the lead-up to the March 25 election that heard allegations a Liberal powerbroker sought to branch-stack federal deputy chief Sussan Ley’s voters of Farrer in late 2020, in a ploy to take the seat for himself.
A number of Liberal Get together members efficiently evaded being summoned to provide proof to the inquiry earlier than it was disbanded when writs have been issued three weeks forward of the election.
Mr Perrottet in March mentioned the allegations tabled on the inquiry have been being internally investigated.
“The Liberal Get together will take a look at these issues and any wrongdoing that’s discovered, if any, acceptable motion will probably be taken,” he mentioned.
