Acclaimed Australian artist John Olsen dead at 95

John Olsen, considered one of Australia’s most acclaimed artists who was recognized for his distinctive depictions of landscapes and nature, has died at age 95.

He died on Tuesday surrounded by household, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

The Newcastle-born painter’s profession spanned greater than 60 years, along with his work exhibited in galleries throughout the nation and abroad, and he was a winner of the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman prizes.
