Emergency companies had been referred to as to a unit on Newman St close to Army Rd, Merrylands at about 11.30pm on Monday after considerations had been raised for the welfare of a girl.

Police spoke to a 38-year-old man on the scene.
He was then taken to Granville Police Station to help with inquiries.
“A criminal offense scene has been established, which will probably be examined by specialist forensic police,” NSW Police mentioned.
An investigation into the girl’s dying has begun.
