Corridor of Fame jockey Paul Harvey has been booked to trip Perth Stakes (1100m) winner Ripcord in Saturday’s $500,000 Group 2 Karrakatta Plate (1200m) at Ascot.
Harvey picked up the trip after main hoop Chris Parnham elected to remain on gun filly Tremendous Smink, who at $4.80 is rated the largest menace to raging $1.80 favourite Stay To Inform.
Harvey gained the Karrakatta on Fortunate Avenue in 2015.
Ripcord signed to the third line of Karrakatta betting at $9 with Ladbrokes after making a powerful impression on debut, beating Alotofbanter by half a size within the Perth Stakes.
Coach Luke Fernie stated Tuesday’s barrier draw can be essential to the son of Written By’s possibilities of upstaging Stay To Inform, the good winner of the Supremacy Stakes (1000m) and Gimcrack Stakes (1100m) at her previous two begins.
