German cyclist Marius Mayrhofer has gained the Cadel Evans Nice Ocean Highway Race in a surprising dash end.
After a dramatic crash took out three riders inside the previous couple of hundred meters at Geelong, Mayrhofer was the upset winner of the 176.6km race.

The 22-year-old group DSM rider was in tears after his first win at World Tour degree.
Hugo Web page of France completed second and Australian Simon Clarke was third.
The highest Australian sprinters have been unable to overhaul Mayhofer on the end, with Michael Matthews fourth and Caleb Ewan sixth.
Dutch rider Taco van der Hoorn made a solo break that lasted till simply after the second of the 4 climbs up Challambra Crescent, with simply lower than 40km left.
Regardless of a sequence of assaults, there was a bunch of greater than 20 riders in competition for the final climb up Challambra with 10km to go.
Van der Hoorn’s Norwegian Intermarche teammate Sven Erik Bystrom broke away and was joined by Swiss Mauro Schmid (Soudal Quck-Step).
