A Gold Coast road has been shut down as closely armed police negotiate with a needed man.
The siege, which started about 2pm on Tuesday on Marbella Ave in Benowa, was sparked when the police attended the house to query an individual however have been met with threats.

“Upon arrival, the person allegedly refused to exit the dwelling and made threats,” Queensland Police stated.

It is understood closely armed officers are on the scene negotiating with the person, who’s believed to be armed.
Police say there’s at the moment no threat to neighboring properties.
