An in-flight well being emergency has pressured the emergency touchdown of an international Qantas flight.
Crew and passengers carried out life-saving first support on a “critically unwell” affected person earlier than being suggested to divert the flight.
A Qantas spokesperson confirmed that the flight, from Singapore to London, needed to make an “unscheduled touchdown” in Athens.

“Our flight from Singapore to London has made an unscheduled touchdown at Athens Worldwide Airport in Greece after a passenger turned critically unwell on the flight,” the spokesperson stated.
“Crew and passengers supplied life-saving first support onboard and, on the recommendation of medical consultants, the flight diverted so the passenger might obtain emergency medical remedy.
“We’re working to get the rest of the passengers on their method as rapidly as attainable, however given Athens is an airport we do not often function to this will take a while.”
That is the second incident to hit the nationwide service this week, after a Qantas flight to the Philippines was forced to turn back to Sydney following a power outage at Manila’s airport.
