Melbourne man hands himself in after cyclist dies in alleged hit-and-run

A Melbourne man has handed himself into the police after a cyclist died in an alleged hit-and-run within the metropolis’s southeast.

The cyclist’s body was positioned by passers-by in Bangholme shortly earlier than 6am on Friday morning.

He was declared useless on the scene.

A 37-year-old Cranbourne East man is now helping investigators with their inquiries.

“It is alleged a automobile struck a bike owner earlier than fleeing the scene on Frankston-Dandenong Rd, north of Thompsons Rd,” Victoria Police stated.
