A Queensland lady who misplaced her sister, mom and stepfather in a crash involving NRL star Payne Haas’ mom says the incident “should not have occurred”.
Stephanie Zimmer, 35, her mom Susan Zimmer, 70, and stepdad Chris Fawcett, 79, died when their silver Mercedes hatch and a black Mercedes wagon crashed at Bonogin in the Gold Coast hinterland around 5pm on Friday.

The black automotive was being pushed by 46-year-old Uiatu “Joan” Taufua, who’s the mom of Brisbane Broncos and NSW State of Origin participant Haas.
Claudine Snow, the sister of Stephanie and daughter of Susan Zimmer, advised 7NEWS on the scene of the crash that she “won’t ever recover from this”.
“My mom, my stepdad, my solely sibling – my sister – have been taken from me,” she stated.
“This should not have occurred.
“I would like folks to know, while you get behind the wheel, you will have folks’s lives in your fingers.
“It is destroyed my life. I do not know if I can ever be completely satisfied once more.”
Police have steered that the black automotive, of which Taufua was the one occupant, was driving erratically within the lead as much as the crash.
