A gunman has killed two folks and wounded 4 others in what’s being reported as a possible terror assault close to a Kurdish cultural heart in Paris.
A number of gunshots have been fired within the Rue d’Enghien, a road lined with small outlets and cafes within the capital’s 10th arrondissement, sowing panic.
Armed police guarded a safety cordon and several other ambulances have been on the scene, dwell tv photographs confirmed.
“A gun assault has taken place. Thanks to the safety forces for his or her swift motion,” tweeted Deputy Mayor Emmanuel Gregoire. “Ideas for the victims and those that witnessed this drama.”
An investigation into homicide, manslaughter and aggravated violence has been opened, the Paris prosecutor’s workplace stated.
A 69-year-old man had been arrested and was in detention, the prosecutor’s workplace added. The incident was over, it stated.
Police didn’t point out the motives of the alleged shooter.
One witness instructed French information company AFP that seven or eight photographs had been fired. A second witness, chatting with BFM TV, stated the suspected gunman was a white man who opened hearth in silence.
