A major car chase has unfolded on the M1, crossing the Queensland border into northern NSW with an individual at one stage filmed sitting on the bonnet of a black Mercedes earlier than police deployed street spikes to deliver it to a halt.
In a video of the incident posted to Fb, a number of police vehicles could be seen pursuing the Mercedes southbound on the M1 at about 12.20pm on Thursday.

Footage filmed from contained in the Mercedes exhibits the group taunting the trailing police – whereas a male will also be seen sitting on the entrance of the shifting automobile.
Authorities “commenced a pursuit of a automobile after it crossed the border from Queensland and allegedly didn’t cease as directed,” a NSW Police spokesperson mentioned in a press release.
“Street spikes have been deployed on the Cudgen Street Tunnel, close to Tweed Valley Means.”
The automobile was ultimately stopped at Cudgera Creek, 129km south of Brisbane in northeast NSW.
A 27-year-old man, 17-year-old boy and 16-year-old boy – all from Queensland – have been arrested on the scene.
“Motorists heading southbound on the M1 at Cudgera Creek are suggested to keep away from the world if potential and count on delays,” the police spokesperson added.
