Two NSW teenagers have had a fortunate escape after discovering themselves trapped in a cave by pounding surf at Maroubra.
The boys, aged 16 and 17, jumped from the highest of the cliffs at Mistral Level on Friday, NSW Police mentioned in a press release and had been washed towards the rocks earlier than scrambling into the refuge of a cliff-face cavity.
Mates contacted emergency providers, prompting the involvement of native officers, Police Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit, Marine Space Command, Surf Life Saving NSW, Randwick Council Lifeguards and NSW Ambulance paramedics.
