Australians have been warned to look out for scammers spruiking sporting event live streaming links online with the intention to receive bank card particulars.
Scamwatch issued the warning on Friday after a rugby membership in NSW posted on Fb that scammers had been placing faux streaming hyperlinks on their remark posts.
“Loads of these things popping up throughout Fb, sadly out of our management,” Maitland Pickers Rugby League Membership wrote.

“Don’t click on on the hyperlink.”
The membership posted a screenshot of a remark from an alleged scammer who supplied a streaming hyperlink to a rugby match.
“That is the official hyperlink skysport for stream (sic) the sport,” the scammer wrote.
Scamwatch urged sports activities followers to pay attention to these faux hyperlinks, which scammers will use to acquire bank card info.
“Scammers will ask you to register along with your bank card to confirm your location however then they’re going to take your cash,” it stated.
“Do not click on on hyperlinks in feedback or give your bank card particulars.”
