Seed Clare Valley closes, blames COVID and staff shortages

A restaurant that was meant to be a draw card for one among South Australia’s key wine areas has closed down.

Seed Clare Valley shared online the choice was a results of employees shortages, elevated operational prices and overheads.

“We deeply remorse to tell you that Seed Clare Valley shall be ceasing commerce, efficient instantly, and has entered into voluntary liquidation,” house owners Man Parkinson, Sam Macdonald and Candice Leighton stated.

“Because it did for therefore many companies, Covid introduced us with a raft of challenges we might by no means have anticipated.”

The restaurant initially opened in 2014, and was renovated in 2021 to incorporate a bistro, rooftop bar and deli.

Meals critics have been calling it a game-changer for the city.

The house owners stated opening a brand new venue was “an enormous endeavor” and thanked all those that had been a part of the Seed Clare Valley’s journey over the previous 9 years.

Diners expressed their disappointment on-line, writing: “Seed has been part of our life with many great experiences and reminiscences. The service and meals high quality has all the time been excellent.”

“Very unhappy day, and an incredible loss to the Valley. It was all the time an incredible eating expertise. Thanks for these reminiscences. Take care,” a spokesperson for Sussex Squire Wines commented.
