Teenager caught speeding twice the speed limit while high on methylamphetamines

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after allegedly driving at double the velocity restrict in Shepparton, two hours north-north east of Melbourne early Christmas morning.

Shepparton Freeway Patrol members noticed the 16-year-old rushing with no headlights whereas they have been driving alongside Doyles Highway at about 1:30 am Sunday.

Victoria police mentioned the motive force was clocked doing 144 kilometers per hour (km/h) in a 60km/h zone.

They mentioned officers intercepted the car when it all of a sudden stopped in the course of the highway as a result of it had run out of gas.

“Officers have been shocked to find a 16-year-old boy behind the wheel,” a spokesperson mentioned.

Police alleged the motive force returned a constructive drug check for methylamphetamines.

The Mooroopna youth has been charged with reckless conduct endangering critical harm, unlicensed driving and breaching bail.

He’ll face courtroom at a later date.
