A shooter killed two individuals and wounded 4 others in a gun assault close to a Kurdish cultural heart in Paris, the prosecutor’s workplace stated.
A number of gunshots have been fired within the Rue d’Enghien, a road lined with small outlets and cafes within the capital’s 10th arrondissement, sowing panic. Armed police guarded a safety cordon and several other ambulances have been on the scene, dwell tv photographs confirmed.
“A gun assault has taken place. Thanks to the safety forces for his or her swift motion,” tweeted Deputy Mayor Emmanuel Gregoire. “Ideas for the victims and people who witnessed this drama.”
An investigation into homicide, manslaughter and aggravated violence has been opened, the Paris prosecutor’s workplace stated.
A 69-year-old man had been arrested and was in detention, the prosecutor’s workplace added. The incident was over, it stated.
Police didn’t point out the motives of the alleged shooter.
One witness instructed French information company AFP that seven or eight pictures had been fired. A second witness, talking to BFM TV, stated the suspected gunman was a white man who opened fireplace in silence.
