Tributes are flowing for a South Australian police officer and beloved member of the state’s swimming community who died two weeks after a bicycle crash in Adelaide’s suburbs.

Ashley Deacon, 57, was cycling on Flagstaff Rd last month when he reportedly hit a concrete curb. He died on Tuesday, “exhausted from a courageous combat to beat accidents” and surrounded by his household.

The Aberfoyle Park man was out for a morning journey on Flagstaff Rd close to Hyland Avenue at 6.40am on March 22 when tragedy struck, police say.
