Anxious wait as Queensland floods expected to peak

Residents of Burketown in northwest Queensland face an anxious wait as murky water slowly floods their group forward of an anticipated peak.

Some 45 locals took their final likelihood to evacuate on Saturday however others selected to remain regardless of warnings to get out, with sewerage and energy turned off on account of flood dangers.
