Armadale bushfire: Residents told to evacuate as out-of-control blaze threatens homes

Residents within the Metropolis of Armadale have been informed to evacuate “instantly” after an out-of-control bushfire broke out near properties on Thursday evening.

The Division of Fireplace and Emergency Service issued an emergency warning for elements of Mount Richon and Wungong simply earlier than 10pm after a blaze broke out close to properties.

Individuals bounded by South Western Freeway and Coolibberra Drive to the west, Leys Rise to the south, Richon Heights to the east and Treecrest Gardens to the north should evacuate.

DFES suggested residents to depart by heading west to South Western Freeway.

An evacuation middle has opened at Armadale Area for these fleeing their properties.

The fireplace began close to the intersection of Richon Heights and Treecrest Gardens in Mount Richon about 8.40pm.

Residents are in peril and must act instantly to outlive as the fireplace strikes in a north-westerly path.

It isn’t contained or managed and folks have been warned about burning embers blowing near properties.

Firefighters are on the scene working to extinguish the bushfire.
