Head-on crash claims woman’s life on NSW South Coast highway: Police investigating

A girl has died in a head-on crash with a van on a NSW South Coast freeway.

The 81-year-old driver turned trapped in her Volkswagen Jetta when it collided head on with a Toyota HiAce van on the Princes Freeway at Narooma about 12.15pm Thursday.

Emergency companies have been capable of free the lady after a short while. She was handled by paramedics however died on the scene.

The Toyota driver, a 42-year-old man, was flown to Canberra Hospital with leg fractures.

A criminal offense scene has been established and the police are investigating how the tragedy unfolded.

A report will likely be ready for the coroner.
