Former Labor prime minister Kevin Rudd shall be Australia’s subsequent ambassador to the USA.
Dr Rudd’s appointment was introduced by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and International Minister Penny Wong on Tuesday.
“Dr Rudd brings unmatched expertise to the position,” they stated in a joint assertion.
“He has served as prime minister, international minister, held distinguished educational roles and labored extensively in the USA.”
Dr Rudd is predicted to start his new position in early 2023.
