Man shot dead in NSW after pointing gun at Tenterfield Police Station

Police have shot a person useless after he pointed a gun at officers at a northern NSW police station.

The 48-year-old had attended Tenterfield Police Station when the confrontation occurred on Thursday afternoon, police say, and he died on the scene.

The Murder Squad will perform a vital incident investigation.
