NSW government announces $1 billion roads package

Western Sydney motorists would be the winners of a brand new $1 billion state authorities roads bundle.

The funds will go in direction of upgrades, security enhancements and a brand new bypass.

A part of the brand new constructions are to enhance evacuation routes within the wake of the final two years of flooding, which have left residents stranded at instances or struggling to flee rising water.

“It is not simply security,” Premier Dominic Perrottet stated on Sunday as he introduced the funding.

“These roads will make a distinction to individuals’s lives.”

From the $1 billion, $200 million will go to security enhancements alongside components of Elizabeth Drive in Kemps Creek.

One other $100 million will see the Pitt City Bypass constructed to assist with flood evacuations.

Garfield Highway East in Riverstone and Field Hill shall be expanded to a four-lane divided street, which will even assist with flood evacuations, at the price of $100 million.

The remaining $600 million shall be delivered to 15 of the native authorities areas which are but to be decided.
