Passenger accused of assaulting airline staff at Sydney Airport after being blocked from boarding over suspicions ticket bought using stolen credit card

A person has been charged after he allegedly bought an airline ticket with a stolen credit card and then assaulted staff at Sydney Airport who tried to cease him from boarding the flight.

The 19-year-old Canberra man was blocked from boarding a home flight from Sydney to Canberra on Wednesday after the airline and the financial institution flagged suspected fraudulent exercise.

He was arrested in a home departure lounge after he allegedly acted aggressively when trying to board the flight, the Australian Federal Police (AFP) mentioned.

The person allegedly tried to assault a employees member who tried to cease him from boarding the flight, after which allegedly set upon a passenger who intervened.

His ticket was allegedly bought utilizing a stolen bank card, the AFP mentioned.

The 19-year-old was taken to Mascot Police station and was charged with two counts of widespread assault and one depend of acquiring monetary benefit by deception.

AFP Detective Superintendent Morgen Blunden mentioned the AFP had “zero tolerance” for violent conduct at airports.
