Pope signed resignation letter in 2013

Pope Francis has revealed that after he was elected in 2013 he signed a letter of resignation for use if sometime extreme and everlasting well being issues made it not possible to hold out his duties.

Francis, who turned 86 on Saturday and seems to be in good well being aside from a knee ailment, made the remark in an interview with the Spanish newspaper ABC revealed on Sunday.

Francis stated he gave the letter to then Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, who was a holdover from the earlier papacy of Benedict XVI.

Bertone remained within the place for about six months after Francis was elected on March 13, 2013.

Francis has typically stated he would resign if his well being impaired him from working the 1.three billion-member Roman Catholic Church.
