Retired US astronaut Edwin ‘Buzz’ Aldrin is over the moon after marrying his “longtime love”.
The previous spaceman revealed on social media that he had tied the knot on his 93rd birthday.
Aldrin married 63-year-old Dr Anca Faur — the manager vp of his firm, Buzz Aldrin Ventures — in a small ceremony in Los Angeles.
Aldrin made historical past in 1969, together with Neil Armstrong, as the primary people to set foot on the moon.
“I’m happy to announce that my longtime love and accomplice, Dr Anca V Faur, and I’ve tied the knot,” he introduced on Twitter and Fb.
“We have been joined in holy matrimony in a small personal ceremony in Los Angeles, and are as excited as eloping youngsters.”
Aldrin’s three earlier marriages led to divorce. Dr Faur is reportedly a medical physician and has a PhD in chemical engineering.
Hundreds of thousands of individuals all over the world watched the Apollo 11 touchdown on July 20, 1969.
Astronauts Armstrong and Aldrin made their historic stroll on the lunar floor, fulfilling a vow by the late president John F. Kennedy to ship a manned crew to the moon and safely return them to earth.
Michael Collins was the third member of the crew.
