Three guards attacked at Hakea Prison by inmate as union slams Government for ‘horrendous’ staffing levels

Three jail guards have been attacked by an inmate at Hakea Prison — the most recent violence erupting lower than two weeks after a prisoner was killed contained in the maximum-security remand middle.

The West Australian understands the guards had been assaulted early on Tuesday morning, with a feminine officer believed to have been thrown to the bottom, a male officer punched within the face and a 3rd guard additionally injured.
