An off-duty police officer has died after saving his son, who obtained into hassle within the water at an unpatrolled seaside on the NSW south coast.
The 45-year-old went to rescue his 14-year-old son after he obtained caught in a rip at Bogola Seaside, close to Narooma, on New Yr’s Day.
He was capable of assist the boy out of the water earlier than he turned caught within the rip.

He was pulled from the water unconscious.
Paramedics have been known as to the seaside about 1.30pm and carried out CPR on him, however he couldn’t be saved.
The household had been on vacation within the space.
7NEWS understands the person is a sergeant with the NSW Police Drive.
Native police are investigating the incident and can put together a report for the coroner.
