WA Premier Mark McGowan throws support behind a national firearms register in wake of QLD cop shootings

Premier Mark McGowan has lent his enthusiastic help to a nationwide firearms register after Prime Minister Anthony Albanese flagged the idea can be mentioned on the subsequent assembly of the Nationwide Cupboard.

The concept — first really useful within the wake of the 1996 Port Arthur bloodbath — has gained traction following the deadly taking pictures of two law enforcement officials and a close-by landowner in rural Queensland final week.
